I am willing to try most anything that requires an airplane and a camera and of course a little bit of skill to frame that picture in the viewfinder.
The JLG photo is one of five JLG plants in Pennsylvania and Ohio where I had a special request to shoot aerial photographs.
The trip took all day as I flew from Lancaster Airport on a westerly heading across the many mountain ridges of western Pennsylvania.
As I came to each location I would set up for a wide slow banked turn and shoot some scenic background photos of the plant.
Then I would tighten my turn and descend to about 1,000 feet above the ground for the closer shots and then use my zoom for shots closer yet.
A steady hand, a good camera, and some skillful multitasking keeps the pictures in focus and the plane in a constant rate turn while maintaining my desired altitude.
After shooting the four sites in Pennsylvania, I landed at a small airport, had lunch, topped my fuel tanks, and headed to Ohio for the final site.
It made for a long but very rewarding day of aerial photography doing what I like to do best... flying.
